FALK TALK 2024

 MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Welcome to Falk Talk 2024

Here we are at the end of another eventful year full of gratitude and blessings. We thought we'd offer an update on what has been going on in the Falk Family in 2024.

We were incredibly blessed to have both Asher and Davis visit for Easter. What a wonderful gift to be able to worship with Davis, Asher, Lisette and Chase on Easter Sunday. We followed the service with a fantastic meal at Lance and Beth's house.

Gordon's sister, Tammy, and brother-in-law, Walt, visiting in March. It was still chilly enough to have the fire table going on the back porch while we caught up.

Gordon's other sister, Maggie, visited in April! We loved taking her all around Austin and showing her our favorite spots. A particular favorite was Ellsworth Kelly's Austin

Mother's Day brunch at Green Mesquite. It was great to have Asher home for a few weeks in the summer before he went back to Birmingham.

In July my mom and I took a trip up to Lubbock to see my extended family. It's been a while! It was so wonderful to see my aunt, uncle and cousins. I promise that I won't let that much time go by again without visiting! (Of course, we do have a rather large guest room in Austin . . . )

Our beautiful great-niece turned one year old in August. We celebrated with dry ice in the pool (keeping her safe, of course.) Joey continues to be a source of joy and wonder for us. It's so wonderful to have a baby around again.

And it's overwhelming (in a good way) to see my brother and sister-in-law fully embrace their roles as "Oldie" and "Gigi" (their grandparent names). Of course it goes without saying that our niece, Ariel, is an amazing mother.

Sadly, in September, we had to say good-bye to the most perfect pup ever. Ruby Soo left us very suddenly only three days after her 12th "Gotcha Day". We had time to make sure that Asher got home to say good-bye before we let her go. We miss the jingle of her tags, the click of her nails on the floor and the constant leaning against our legs. But we are so, so thankful for the twelve years we got with her. There will never be another like her.

When we went to Michigan for Thanksgiving, we got snow!!!!

We also got five fantastic days with Gordon's family AND A MICHIGAN WIN OVER OHIO STATE!!!!!

Which brings us to the Christmas season.

We wish you and yours the very best as 2024 wraps up.
Please know that you are loved and valued and we would very much like to hear how you are doing. Drop us a line

I'll close with a beautiful promise from Jesus, whose birth we celebrate this season:

27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2025
