Falk Talk 2025

Hello! Welcome to the 2025 edition of Falk Talk!

We have so much to be thankful for in 2025! Let's get started!

Gordon's sister, Maggie and her partner, Michael came to visit in April.

Waiting for the bats to come out from the Congress Avenue Bridge.

While Maggie and Michael were in town, we were able to celebrate Lisette's 25th birthday at Green Pastures - the venue where Gordon and I tied the knot 29 years ago!

Happy birthday, dear Lisette!

We couldn't resist recreating one of our wedding photos.

In May, we traveled to Birmingham to see Asher and his girlfriend, Davis, graduate from Samford. We loved having both families in one place to celebrate!

Proud Samford moms!
June was a busy month! First we celebrated Asher's birthday with a backyard cookout.

Next up, my brother, Lance Myers, had an art show at a local gallery that sold out at the opening reception! You can check out his work HERE.

Later in the month, Gordon and I took a trip to the East Coast. If you've known me for any length of time, you'll know that Jaws is my favorite movie. Gordon surprised me with a trip to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its release. Just a few shots from the trip:

A replica of Chief Brody's truck - complete with the Beaches Closed signs. (Polly did the printing.)

Me meeting Richard Dreyfuss. THAT was an experience!

In front of a replica of the Orca.

We also spent a fun day exploring Boston.

On the home front, Lance's granddaughter, Joey, turned two. She is an avid reader and we are always more than happy to oblige her.
(Guess who this book is from.)

We wrapped up the year once again visiting family in Michigan for Thanksgiving. We had great food, lots of snow and fun conversation all week. We are truly blessed.

Dinner in Detroit's Greek Town after our great nephew's team won the state football championship!
Go Titans!
Come New Year's Eve, this is a house divided. Not evenly, but still divided.

And now it's Christmas! I'm not sure how we got here so quickly, but we are so thankful and blessed for another year. As always, we love and cherish our friends and family and would love to hear from you. Please drop us a line at mintlaka@gmail.com, post something in the comments here or just come see us! We have two guest rooms now!

I'll close with a beautiful promise from Jesus, whose birth we celebrate this season:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

John 14:27
